Hatha Yoga Teacher Training India
We provide internationally accredited 200, 300 and 500 hour Hatha yoga teacher training courses at our traditional yoga ashram (residential yoga school) situated in the beautiful location of Khajuraho, Central India. The Hatha Yoga Teacher Training India is a one-month residential course following the Swami Sivananda lineage. In the last 7 years more than 1000 yoga teachers have graduated from our school and most of them are teaching successfully in their countries worldwide. Our yoga teacher training courses are recognized by Yoga Alliance (USA / Canada), International Yoga Federation (worldwide), European Yoga Association and CRKBO (The Netherlands).
Why study with us
Our teacher training courses are especially focused on learning how to teach rather than just learning a few advanced asanas. At our ashram you will follow a serious and professional course taught by very experienced and dedicated teachers. You will learn authentic Hatha Yoga practices and study the true history, philosophy and benefits of yoga. You will also learn proper alignments, benefits, and contra indications of classical Hatha Yoga asanas. You will learn and practice our unique asana correction techniques, and you will also get hands on teaching experience by teaching daily in small groups from day one until the end.
What is unique about us
We believe a teacher is someone who helps their students to meet their (student’s) goals.
Therefore it is very important that the teacher knows all about the goals and ambitions of his or her students from the start. In order to help the student achieve their goals a teacher also needs to know the strengths and challenges of the student by carefully observing the student in the class and by pushing him/her systematically. We do the same for our students, and we similarly teach our students various skills to help their students meet their goals by careful observation, motivation and guidance.
We believe that every student is different, and that the ideal alignment is also different for every individual. So a good teacher needs to provide individual alignment and correction to everyone in his/her class according to the student’s own body structure and physical challenges.
Therefore, during our yoga teacher training courses we teach very unique and efficient correction techniques developed by the Arhanta Yoga director Yogi Ram through his teaching experience of over 16 years.
You will learn these unique correction techniques, which are efficient, quick and professional. You will learn how to touch the students in a professional way, how to push them and how to let them push themselves safely. You will also learn how to structure your classes to suit different skill levels and age ranges.

The teachers are very professional. It is amazing to see how much information we all learn in a relatively short time. It’s beautiful to see the progress during the course of myself and my peers. The experience of living for almost four weeks in the ashram is special, a practice in non duality: it seems to be endless, yet the days pass by so quickly. Also, it is quite heavy and relaxed at the same time. I am very grateful to have had the chance for this experience. (Cindy, Nijmegen, Netherlands)
“I really enjoyed the focused atmosphere at the Arhanta Ashram. I feel like the structured schedule allowed us to learn an abundance of knowledge. We learned about all different aspects of yogic philosophy, even branching out to Ayurvedic gunas. The teachers were very kind and continually pushing us to try our best and grow. I am so grateful for the time I spent here. Thank you.” (Andrea, Boulder, CO, America)
“I’ve deeply enjoyed my course at Arhanta Ashram. Ram and his wonderful team of teacher trainers really pushed us to leave here with a solid foundation of knowledge and the skills necessary to teach yoga. I was challenged everyday and I have learned so much more than I expected at the start. The teachers are so passionate for what they do and it shows. This course and the curriculum was extremely well thought out and I truly felt cared for by the teachers and ashram staff. I recommend Arhanta highly! Thank you team Arhanta!” (Hannah, Chicago Illinois, USA)
“The yoga teacher training at Arhanta Yoga Ashram was a wonderful experience for me. I learned a lot these four weeks about teaching, the asanas, the philosophy, the ‘yoga lifestyle’. The teachers are very professional and try to make you do the best you can. Nice simple rooms, good healthy food. The nice tea in the morning and evening. It is a real all-in-one course that will give you all the skills to become a good yoga teacher.” (Martin, Tilburg, Netherlands)
“Very nice, friendly teachers who are always there for their students. I think for them and for you it is very important that we learn as much as we can in only four weeks and the teachers do it for us, not for their image. I would recommend Arhanta to my friends, family and any person who is interested in yoga and wants to learn more about it. Sometimes it was hard for me to stay always concentrated and I needed more free time to reflect more and have a mind break. I like the positive atmosphere around the ashram.” (Doreen, Cologne, Germany)
